Bromo (2200m asl) is widely known as one of the most beautiful volcanoes in Indonesia. Besides the active crater, Bromo also offers the view of beautiful sunrise from Penanjakan view point (2700m asl). Being located only 2 hours drive away from the city of Malang and 3 hours drive away from Surabaya, Bromo attracts many visitors everyday. Travellers will enjoy a variety of scenery, from rainforest to savannah and sea of sand, as well as the huge caldera of Tengger. This trip will take you through the less visited southern part of Tengger caldera, with beautiful view of Ngadas village.Mt. Kawah Ijen is also interesting as it has an active crater with a sulphuric acid lake nearby. This volcano produces a big amount of sulphur, thus, there are about 200 miners working there. Day 1

Pick up in Surabaya – Transfer to Tumpang

You will be welcomed by your guide at your point of arrival. You will drive for 3 hours to Tumpang with our private air conditioned car. There’s a possibility to do Malang city tour to the infamous flower market, Chinese temple, and Candi Jago Tumpang, a 13th century temple. You will sleep and have dinner at Rani Homestay.

Day 2

Tumpang (600m asl) – CobanPelangi Waterfall – Mt. Bromo(2300m asl)–Cemorolawang

Depart to Cemorolawang by jeep after having your breakfast. You will have a short hike (2 hours in total) to CobanPelangi waterfall, then continue the journey to Cemorolawang. You will pass through Ngadas village, the predominantly Hindu village where the inhabitants cultivate the crops on steep hills. You can also see Mt. Semeru (the highest volcano in Indonesia) from this village. In the afternoon you will climb Mt. Bromo, and you will stay in a hotel in Cemorolawang

Day 3

Sunrise sightseeing – Rafting – Transfer to Bondowoso

You will depart from Cemorolawang to see sunrise in Seruni view point (2700m asl) at 03.30 am, which will take app. 1 hour walk. You will then walk back to hotel to have breakfast and prepare for checking out. You will have to leave Cemorolawang at 08.00 am to Pekalenriver which will take app. 2 hours. You will do 12 km adventure rafting which will lasts for 3 hours. Lunch will be provided after the activity, and you will drive to Bondowosofor 5 to 6 hours. Stay in a hotel in Bondowoso. Please note that you will arrive pretty late in Bondowoso.

Day 4

Bondowoso – Kawah Ijen(2799m asl)– Transfer out to Surabaya

You will have to check out of your hotel and leave Bondowoso at 01.00 am to Kawah Ijen crater (app. 2 hours drive) by car. Once you arrive at Paltuding parking lot, you will have to walk for 3 km (app. 1 hour) to get to the top of KawahIjen and another 30 minutes to reach the crater. Breakfast box will be provided and you will have breakfast picnic style once you get back to Paltuding. Transfer out to Surabaya, which will take approximately 7hours drive.

The guide has been accommodating so far. We enjoyed the trip overall and we definitely enjoyed the food. Just a few feed back in terms of trip. The guide should have told us in terms what time do we need to start climb Ijen. We thought we had ample time hence why we had our breakfast and went to the toilet before we started climbing – there were no urgency. We very much enjoyed our time in Ijen View – very nice hotel and very nice facilities – but we felt that the location was a bit far from Ijen. Just felt that it could be closer. Not a big problem.
Overall it was a fun trip! We enjoyed everything! And we want to thank all of you for making our time here memorable. We would like to recommend Galuh to any visitors coming your way. He was pleasant to be with and we were comfortable with him!!
