Mt. Raung (3344m asl) is a unique volcano on its own way. This mountain is considered to be among the toughest mountains in Java, due to the lack of water resource and technical climb. However, once you get onto the summit, everything will get paid off. Raung has one of the biggest craters in Indonesia. Mt. Kawah Ijen (2799m asl) is also interesting as it has an active crater with a sulphuric acid lake nearby. This volcano produces a big amount of sulphur, thus, there are about 200 miners working there.

The first hotel was pretty nice even though we didn’t spend much time in it. the next one with the swimming pool was so-so, but having the big pool is good. My favourite one is the last one: in a tent! The camp was really nicely set, tents and chairs of very good quality and new..bravo. Thank you so much Rani for your joyful humour and forgiving us for being noisy and smelly! Congrats for the last minute change from Semeru to Raung. Amazing reactivity. Very nice driver, good skills. The car’s aircon is a bit light though and shock absorbers felt stiff in the back

Hotels were nice and amazing service from staff for the nights in the tents. Rani is a super guide. We had to change our plans due to an unexpected event on the Semeru. She adapted very rapidly and very efficiently. It was very pleasant to have her in our group. She speaks perfect French and has a good Knowledge that she is willing to share. To summarize the feeling I had on this trip I would say :
The only think you need to worry about is to walk and open your eyes to see the wonders. For the rest the staff of Rani Adventure is in charge !
Thank you again to the entire team.

The first hotel was excellent, a pity we didn’t stay a long time in this place. Very good organisation. The semeru was close but Rani found a very great new plan, the Raung! Wonderful place and very good reactivity from all the team!
